The centre was established in 1982 by Dr Powa, after noticing the lack of health in children, along with the low amount of information available to the children. He founded the Masizame Training Centre to be a place that provides early childhood developmental education to young children, skill development for the older generations and ensuring everyone is fed a healthy meal as often as they can provide. They currently look after 70 beneficiaries ages 4 to 30 years old and hope to grow to be able to assist even more people.
